My love & compassion for animals is what inspires me
every day. Working primarily in colored pencil, pastel &
acrylic, I have also ventured into mixed media & papier
mache.
Commissioned pet portraits, wildlife portraits & murals
are available & my work is in private collections in
Arizona, Colorado, Oklahoma & Texas. My murals can be
seen at Vallejo’s Restaurant & Dublin Animal Hospital in
Colorado Springs.
I learned custom framing from Sid Novis (my “second
father”) at Novis Frame & Art Gallery for 12 years.
Have donated work for fundraisers to Cheyenne
Mountain Zoo, All Breed Rescue & Training, National Mill
Dog Rescue & Colorado Pug Rescue, among others.
I studied Fine Arts at UCCS in Colorado Springs &
previously sold works through Novis Gallery.
In the past 2 years, was juried into Niza Knoll Gallery’s
“Gone to the Dogs” show in Denver & in the 2010 show
was awarded Best Painting for “Scarlet’s Dream”.
This year, I displayed work at Colorado Springs Airport
from Jan - Mar, had a one woman show by invitation at
the Bridge Commons Gallery in April where I sold
several of my papier mache “party pigs”, “Penguin Pair”
& a commission for a pet portrait. I currently have work
showing at Imagination Space at the Citadel & just
received an invitation to show at the C.S. Airport again
in Apr-June of 2012.
The perfect day for me is a walk at the dog park with my
best friend (& husband ) Phil & our 4 dogs. While there,
we take lots of pictures of the dogs we meet so I
constantly have new muses to work with!
I hope everyone who sees my work gets a sense of the
personality & spirit of each animal I paint & the joy I feel
in celebrating them.
