I was born and raised in Beatrice, Nebraska. Earned a
teaching degree in Art, at Nebraska Wesleyan
University in Lincoln. Moved to Pueblo in 1973 to teach
Art and Ceramics at the middle school level (mostly at
Freed Middle School) for 30 years. I earned a Masters
Degree in the Creative Arts in 1988. I retired in 2003
and have enjoyed developing my art in Pastels through
classes with Jill Starkey.
I am married to Bud Nickell, jewelry artist, and am the
mother of Luke and Lexa Nickell. I have lived in the
beauty of Colorado City since1992. I love to explore
the joy of color even though it eludes me as I enjoy
painting portraits, animals, nature and the beauty that
surrounds us.
